Prevention & Early Intervention

Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) programs are a component of the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) that are designed to increase protective factors and resilience and engage individuals in mental health services before the development of mental illness. PEI programs integrate strategies to reduce the following seven negative outcomes: Prolonged suffering; School Failure or Dropout; Suicide; Incarceration, Unemployment; Removal of children from their homes.

Transition Aged Youth Programs

Transition Aged Youth (TAY) programs provide counseling, screening and brief interventions for 16-25 year-olds and some younger teens.

PEI providers provide a range of services and supports including individual, group and family mental health counseling and trainings.

The Older Adult PEI program provides individual and group counseling to older adults.
